Blue Moon Press Limited Edition Letterpress Books

I am an occasional book artist. I established Blue Moon Press, my private press, in 1978 while in the MFA printmaking program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison while working with Walter Hamady, and found the book form was perfect for my narrative images. Usually my books act as a summation of a particular series when I see it coming to an end. They are always created as independent works even though they may contain similar imagery to some of the prints. Texts sometimes come from other writers, but I am always the designer, visual artist, printer, and often the binder. This all takes a lot of time and it seems like I finish a book only about once in a blue moon.
